Shepherd's Bush Market

Metropolitan-Vickers Bo-Bo locomotive No. 12 'Sarah Siddons' now at rear of special train passing Shepherd's Bush Market station, during the 150th Anniversary of the opening of this section of the Underground, now part of the Hammersmith & City Line, on 9th August 2014. 20 of these handsome electric locomotives were built in 1922/23; No. 12 was retired in 1962 following completion of Metropolitan Line electrification from Rickmansworth to Amersham and Chesham (which saw the abandonment of Met services from Amersham to Aylesbury which section was given over to BR and is now part of Chiltern Railways). No. 12 has been kept in working order, the only other preserved Bo-Bo is No. 5 'John Hampden' which is on static display in the London Transport Museum at Covent Garden.
