Pilton West Junction

Part of the course of the CR's Granton branch was converted to this not terribly useful mini relief road after the track was lifted in the 1980s. It runs between the site of Crew Junction (behind me) and Pilton West Junction at Granton Gasworks. A connection from Pilton East came in from the right and joined it in the middle distance at points controlled from Pilton West box. This connection can't have been of much use either and disappeared between the wars. It survived long enough to dictate the curve of Crewe Road West, the houses seen through the trees.
