When there's no Edinburgh to Inverness service there's an Edinburgh to Perth one, forming an hourly service between the capital and The Fair City during the day. The unvarying platform for the latter trains is 5, and a 158 prepares to return to Edinburgh on 3 October. Although Platfrom 6 is numbered it has no departure screen and seems to be used only for occasional stabling.
