Porthmadog [WHR]

The Purple Moose Brewery tanker, with the Mŵs Piws (inset) itself on the end, basking in the autumn sunshine at the Welsh Highland Heritage railway's station at Porthmadog. The tanker is, in part at least, by way of a memorial to the late Bob Washington, one of the most faithful and active members of the WHHR who played a key role in the operation of the Miniature Railway at Gelert’s Farm. He was also a director of the Purple Moose brewery. The tanker is based on a Royal Navy Armament Depot flat wagon dating from the late 1930’s/early 1940’s, and the tank itself came via the Ffestiniog Railway. The two were securely united in August 2016 after the flat wagon had been refurbished for display. (Thanks to Richard Harrison of the WHHR for information).
