York

Scotrail liveried Turbostar 170477 sits in platform 11 ready to form the 1010hrs Northern Rail service to Burley Park via Harrogate in July 2018. The train actually terminates at Leeds but, to avoid anyone mistaking it for a fast service to Leeds, it is announced as a service to Harrogate that then goes forward calling at all stations to Burley Park. Not very easy for tourists who want to go to Leeds via the scenic route to know that it does go through to Leeds after calling at the last station indicated. The 170 Scotrail interior was so impressive that a lady with her daughter, and grandchild in a pushchair, asked if they were allowed to use the leading carriage I was in with a standard class ticket.
