Birchden Junction

Secondman's view (from BRC&W Type 3 No. 33201) of the former Birchden
Junction on 21st June 2018. The Uckfield branch diverges left towards Oxted
and London, while the loco and train turn eastwards towards Groombridge and
Tunbridge Wells West. The two single-track lines today have no physical
connection, although the Spa Valley line actually runs over the Network Rail
solum from its terminus at Eridge (where there is a cross-footbridge
connection to Uckfield services) to this former junction. (Cab ride courtesy
