Old Mill Lane Goods
Looking east towards the extant rail overbridge across the east end of Smithies Lane in Barnsley, that was on the former LNER Nostell to Stairfoot line. The bridge sits on extremely long abutments that were seemingly intended to accommodate a further bridge linked to extra tracks on the wide trackbed shown on old maps; but never added. Extensive sidings existed north of the bridge for the coal traffic from local collieries. Old Mill Lane goods yard was around 1Km to the south.
