Baggrow

The Bolton Loop of the M&CR was intended to open up the coalfield in that area but was worked as two separate branches that met at Mealsgate. There was an intermediate station at Baggrow to the right of this surviving bridge abutment. Passenger services ceased in 1930 but colliery traffic and general freight from Aspatria to Mealsgate lasted until 1952.
