High Harrington

High Harrington station on the Cleator & Workington Junction Railway, seen in March 2018. This view looks towards Distington along the established trackbed cycle path. The remains of the Workington platform, which last saw passengers in 1931, can be seen on the right. Goods trains continued to pass through until 1964. The central bridge pier is a later addition supporting the heavy road traffic that passes over today. [Ref query 14 March 2018]
