Haltwhistle

The view to the east from the West Road (former A69) bridge. The Class 37 loco has just propelled an engineers train into the sidings to the west of Haltwhistle Station. The former yard to the south of the station was still visible from the bridge. The Alston Branch viaduct over the South Tyne is in the background in the autumn murk. For a view of the loco to the west of this bridge see image 62558.
