Brocken Summit

HSB 99 7232-4 departing Brocken with the 13:14 train to Wernigerode on 18 September 2017. The batch of 17 New Steam Engines built in the 1950s and converted to oil-burning in the 1970s, before being returned to coal-burning in the 1980s. These locomotives form the backbone of the steam-hauled services on the Nordhausen-Wernigerode and Drei Annen Hohne-Brocken lines.
