Shanghai Hongqiao
China Railways. Shanghai Hongqiao. The rear of train G13, the 10.00 from Beijing South, which has just arrived 6 minutes early at Shanghai Hongqiao. The train averaged 301.6 kmh (187mph) over the 1318km with two stops at Jinan West and Nanjing South against a scheduled average of 294.8 km/h (182mph). Given the train only twice actually reached and passed 350 kmh over the course of its journey for very short periods, the scheduled time of 4h 28m does not look taxing for the new CRH400AF units. The ride quality at 340 kmh plus is superb but this is in part due to the excellent track. 25 September 2017
