Giffen Junction

Giffen Junction looking north to Barrmill Junction in 1997. The line was still in use, but perhaps only for the annual weedkilling train! This location has a complicated history of opening dates and closures. The original Barrmill and Kilwinning devised route was straight ahead and the Caledonian's determination to wholly own their own route to Ardrossan is to the right. The Giffenmill Viaduct was still standing and can be seen on the right.
