White City

The LU White City station on the Central Line, seen here looking east across Wood Lane in July 2005. The station, which opened in 1947, replaced the now demolished Wood Lane station, which had been the western terminus of the line (then the Central London Railway) from 1908 until 1920. Note the blue circular plaque to the left of the station canopy, commemorating a Festival of Britain design award. The station is also notable in featuring right-hand running see image 34254.
