Danby

The Esk Valley line to Whitby crosses the River Esk and the local road to Lealholm in rapid succession shortly after leaving Danby Station heading east. The view looking south shows the second bridge, the road bridge, which, for a rural location, has a motorway headroom of 16 feet. The section of the bridge on the far side has a higher still headroom, having been rebuilt in the recent past. The river bridge is some 25m to the right.
