(No reference to location or date unfortunately) Caption reads '4-2-2 express locomotive built to the order of the Caledonian Railway by Neilson & Company, Glasgow, for the Edinburgh Exhibition of 1886. The engine took part in the east and west coast races of 1888 and, from the beginning of the century till 1923 acted as the Royal Train pilot of the CR system. The 'Royal Pilot' was delivered in 66 days from the receipt of the order.'
