Palma

The low point, quite literally, of Majorcan Railways. This is Palma station in 1991, when the once extensive island network had been reduced to the tourist line to Soller and the 26km main line to Inca. The metre gauge diesel railcar on the left shuttled between Inca and Palma but other lines beyond Inca had been closed. The burnt out depot and railcar in the background summed it up really. Thankfully, since then, the line has been extended beyond Inca, electrified and also now terminates in an underground station in Palma connecting into the new Metro services. Soller services still run but from their own separate surface station.
