Barnstaple
A pale shadow of its former glory. The 10.35 arrival from Exmouth and Exeter
sits at Barnstaple on 22 April 2017. The former extensive goods yard in the
background - as featured in Ian Dinmore's classic 1980s shots - has
disappeared under a sea of car parks, roads, supermarkets and retail sheds.
Walking from the station into the town centre - previously served by
Barnstaple Town station - is not a pleasant experience these days.
