Boroughbridge [2nd]

When the line from Pilmoor to Boroughbridge was extended west to Knaresborough it was necessary to install a bridge immediately after the original station to cross the road running to Dishforth. The lower section of the abutment on the east side of the road is still extant, with an industrial estate now occupying the original station and goods yard site, as seen above the abutment. There was also a need to create a new larger station, to rear of view, at a high level, and a bridge across Leeming Road at the west end of the new station site. See image 58543.
