Bury Bolton Street

4MT 2-6-4T 80097 was rescued from Barry in 1985 by the Bury Standard 4 Group. For a long time restoration proceeded very slowly in the open but the loco is now housed in a purpose built shed at Bolton Street station and the team are making good progress. The loco first worked on the LTSR, hence the 33A Plaistow shed plate. It later ran in Wales and was finally withdrawn from Machynlleth. When complete it will join classmate 80080 on the East Lancashire Railway and work will turn to the group's other loco, 2MT 2-6-0 46428.
