Liskeard

Extract from a 6 inch map from around 1913 showing the curious (unique?) arrangement at Liskeard. In railway terms the scene is little changed today with Looe branch trains departing from the separate station at right angles to the main platforms then dropping down through a 180 degree curve to pass under the main line via Liskeard viaduct See image 29447. There are a number of photographs of Liskeard and the Looe line on Railscot.
