Bury Bolton Street

The steam heating boiler of 40106 Atlantic Conveyor was completed and passed its insurance test on 22nd March 2017 allowing the loco to haul (and heat) passenger trains on the ELR on the following weekend. This was the first time in thirty years that it had steam heated a train. There's a tell tale wisp of steam from the front bogie as the shiny EE Type 4 slows to collect the single line staff from the Bury South signalman as it leaves Bolton Street heading for Heywood. Ironically, this was probably the warmest day of 2017 so far. See image 24898 of the same loco taken in 1982.
