Teignbridge Level Crossing
The gates of Teignbridge Level Crossing, just over a mile north west of Newton Abbott, looking towards the former station at Teigngrace (closed 1959). Reviving the closed Teign Valley line north from here to Exeter was one of the options considered as a way of avoiding ongoing difficulties on the coastal route via Dawlish. [Ref query 982]
