General Terminus

Looking south towards Scotland Street Junction over the approach to General Terminus not long after track lifting in 1987. The location was reached via an approach eight tracks wide. This city centre location, latterly used to import iron ore for Ravenscraig before being eclipsed by Hunterston, was dismantled in late 1986 after a long period of little use. The trackbed seen here was used as a car park and access to the Glasgow Garden Festival site in 1988. The cutting has since been filled in and redeveloped.
