Chinley East Junction

The eastbound Harwich Boat Train rounds the curve at Chinley East Junction behind a Class 45 Peak in the summer of 1978. This was prior to the reinstatement of the East to South junctions chord that now allows stone trains direct access to and from the Sheffield direction. See image 26978 taken from the same bridge thirty years later. [Ref query 438]
