Baillieston
Test borings have been carried out near Baillieston Station with a view to replacing the ageing Muirhead Road overbridge, which has had a weight restriction and traffic lights reducing it to a single carriageway for a number of years. An unworked seam of coal has been discovered under the east side of the bridge – reassuring as the area is riddled with old mine workings.
