Blindwells Opencast Disposal Site

There was a long wait for this photograph. The driver of this Class 37 had some difficulty getting the train out of the disposal point (DP) siding although he looks calm enough. Firstly the train stalled then the loco engine stalled. It was a sunny day but it had been frosty so the rails may have been slippery. The photographer was in a position of safety and being half way up the cutting slope also in a good position for this shot. This is the bridge from which another shot was taken of the DP see image 50903
