Alston

South Tynedale Railway 0-4-0DM No.9 stands in Alston station with a single coach on 2nd May, 2016, during the events that marked the 40th anniversary of closure of the branch by British Rail. The loco (Hunslet 4109/1952) was built for underground mine working but later converted for NCB surface use in the Durham area,
