Glasgow Queen Street High Level

In the gloom of the station throat, an RRV starts to place ballast round the newly laid pointwork for the realigned platform 1 - 4 roads. The engineering train with the ballast waggons on the old platform 7 road has just arrived. Meanwhile in the brilliant spring sunshine, work continues on platform reconstruction. In keeping with modern practice, there will be no ramps at the ends of the platforms.
