The pedestrian entrance to Kirknewton station from Station Road in September 2002. The memorable 1848 'B' listed station building alongside the eastbound platform opposite is nowadays a private residence. The unique design, with its severe angular structure, pseudo-castellations, ball finials etc. etc.. always conjures up thoughts of the aftermath of an architects wild night out. (The building was actually designed by Sir William Tite 1798 - 1873)
