Kinross [2nd]

View south at Loch Leven with sleepers still at the site of the shed to the left and, further left, the approach to the goods yard. Briefly, in 1860, this was the Kinross terminus of the line from Lumphinnans before the Fife and Kinross was extended south from Hopefield and this line extended north to meet it at a new through station (Kinross [3rd], renamed Loch Leven in 1871 and closed in 1921). The Hopefield station became Kinross Junction station on the opening of the Devon Valley line, was rebuilt on the opening of the Forth Bridge and survived until 1970.

The North British provided a Loch Leven curlers' platform south of here.

Loch Leven itself is visible to the left.
