Newstead

A reminder of the short lived Newstead station (November 1849 - October 1852) to the west of its site. The station was initially, and briefly, named Newbridge until 1850. Sidings remained to the east for a few years after closure to passengers. The embankment now forms a longitudinal garden at the rear of houses in Newstead.
