Glasgow Queen Street High Level

An idea of the platform capacities of Glasgow Queen Street High level prior to the planned exensions for EGIP can be gained from this view from 4 weeks before the closure for the Cowlairs Tunnel refurbishment.
On the left at platform 6, a 6 car Class 170 DMU fits with space to spare. In the centre, plaforms 5 & 4 each host a 2 car Class 156, while on the right at platform 3, a 3 car Class 170 just fits with a 2 car DMU behind it. Platform 7 at the extreme left is slightly longer than 6 and platform 2 at the extreme right can accomodate a 6 car unit. Platform 1 is out of shot to the right and can take a 3 car train.
