Garngaber Low Junction

This was the original Garngaber Low Junction looking north. The trackbed to the left was an M&K built curve 'the bull's horns' which led to Garngaber High Junction on the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway and the trackbed to the right was the original line running north to Kirkintilloch Basin. When this was the junction, the line continued south as a single track to east of Muckcroft where it doubled.

Later the junction was moved further south and east to Muckcroft Level Crossing and the lines ran as two parallel single track railways to that point. With the opening of the connection from Bridgend Junction to Waterside the second Garngaber Low Junction's box closed and the two lines ran independently even further east to Bridgend Junction.

This location has since been obliterated with the opening of the new A806 through Kirkintilloch.
