Whitby
Standard class 4 76079 has just arrived at Whitby on the return working of the 11.00 Santa Special and is being readied to depart on the rear of the 13.00 departure, topping & tailing with BR Sulzer Type 2 diesel D7628. The Whitby Santa Specials run along the Network Rail Esk Valley line as far as Glaisdale, unlike the Grosmont and Pickering versions that stay on NYMR tracks. Note the loco is at the Network Rail platform, rather than the dedicated NYMR platform to the left.
