Preston

The remains of a bridge over Garden St in Preston is one of the structures of the Preston to Walton Tramroad that once linked the Lancaster Canal to the Leeds Liverpool Canal. The tramroad closed around about 1864 and while the route to the south of the River Ribble is used as a footpath, this section through Preston is less easy to find.See image 29701 for a view of the modern replica of the bridge over the river.
