Newbattle Viaduct

Odd man out. A motor car heads south on the A7 towards Galashiels during a shower of rain on 24 July 2015, having just cleared the southernmost of the 23 arches of Newbattle Viaduct. This arch differs from its 22 Neighbours in being skewed to accommodate the road and incorporating a stone lined arch ring, as opposed to the brick construction used elsewhere - as in the arch to the right.
