Rotterdam Centraal
Stadsgewestelijk Materieel 2 set, Plan Y2 no 2943 awaits departure from Rotterdam Centraal on 15 July 2015. The name translates as 'Suburban Equipment'; these units were designed specifically for suburban services between stations short distances apart, with fast acceleration and quick braking capability. They can reach 125km/hr in 72 seconds. This is a second generation set, delivered to NS in 1983, refurbished and updated in 2003-2006 by Bombardier in Denmark.
