Grafenau

A typical scene from a German branch line today, with formerly extensive infrastructure replaced by basic fit-for-purpose provision, and loco-hauled trains replaced by single-unit modern railcars, in this case one of the widely-used Stadler Regioshuttle variants. This is the terminus of the Zwiesel-Grafenau line in the Bayerischer Wald, operated by Waldbahn (over DB Netz metals) on a one-train-working basis, seen here on 19th June.
