Parkhead Stadium

Opened in 1897, the Caledonian station at Parkhead had the word Stadium added for the 12 years up to final closure in 1964. Here a Kilbowie - Coatbridge Central train calls at the station on 27 July 1961, with the tenements of Whitby Street visible top right. In charge of the train is Motherwell's Standard class 4 2-6-0 no 76002. (See 72797)
