Drewry designed class 03 0-6-0 diesel shunter D2162 stabled in the sidings alongside Llangollen engine shed in August 1997. The cabside carries the legend Birkenhead South 1879 - 1985. The loco is owned by Wirral Borough Council, and is on long term loan to the Llangollen Railway
