Mistley

A westward view through a rather grimey Mistley station towards Manningtree on 29th January 1978. At the time, the station was still manned and the landmark EDME chimney stack was adding to the grime. Major change arrived in the 1980s when the line to Harwich was electrified and the signaling modernized. In 1985, the signal box was moved to the East Anglian Railway Museum at Chappell and Wakes Colne. The main building has since been cleaned and looks much fresher.
