Carstairs
This study at Carstairs in August 1997 perhaps shows why demolition and a new start was the only realistic option. The extensive buildings were shortly to be replaced by a functional ticket office and all that remains from fomer times is the ironwork of this footbridge, with modern steps down to the platform.
