Galashiels

Nearly five years on from my photograph in April 2010 see image 28730, in this view north from Station Brae on 24th February 2015 one building has been demolished to make way for the railway, while another's construction is steadily progressing in the shape of the new Galashiels Transport Interchange - and the single platform railway station is also taking shape. Thanks to lobbying by the Campaign for Borders Rail, the maximum waiting time for signals to allow passengers to cross the intervening A7 road will be just 30 seconds.
