The Port Carlisle Dandy, NBR No 1, photographed at the National Railway Museum in June 2013. The notice on the door reads For 1st & 2nd class passengers only (3rd class passengers occupied the outside benches). The first horse drawn Dandy ran from Drumburgh to Port Carlisle in 1861 and continued to operate until 1914 when steam took over. The branch closed completely in 1932. See image 22515
