Gateshead Shed

An A4 that spent almost its entire operational life at Gateshead was 60002 Sir Murrough Wilson. Originally named Pochard (for 8 months), it arrived new from Doncaster Works in 1938. Other than a spell of 6 weeks at Kings Cross in 1943 the Pacific remained on Tyneside until its eventual withdrawal in May 1964. Seen here on its home shed, thought to be in 1963.
