Clarkston and Stamperland

An evening train bound for East Kilbride approaches Clarkston in April 1966, the last week of steam operations on the route. Photographed from the roof car park of Clarkston Toll shopping centre on Busby Road, much of which was destroyed in a major gas explosion five and a half years later, in which 21 people died.
