Kirby Cross

The down platform at Kirby Cross, looking east towards Frinton and Walton-on-Naze on 11th July 1976. Passenger business on the branch was very good that summer as many sought to escape the exceptional inland heat and drought with days at the seaside. The already parched vegetation on the platform would not see normal rainfall for another two months.
