South Chadderton
An interesting civil engineering solution. The Oldham Loop line climbed through South Chadderton on an embankment without a station. On conversion to Metrolink a tram stop was built but at street level with the trams dropping steeply down on either side before climbing back to the original formation. In this view looking towards Oldham Tram 3020 drops down to the new halt passing what remains of the original L&YR railway embankment.
