Normanton

40038 south of Goose Hill Junction box in February 1977 with ballast in a variety of Engineer's wagons. They are all equipped with the vacuum brake and the train is running as a fully fitted working with the loco displaying the correct class 6 headcode discs, despite the requirement for this having been abolished a year earlier. The vantage point gives a good view of the facing crossover arrangement between the ex-MR and ex-L&Y lines.
